The elections took place and Aung San Suu Kyi was counted as the winner. On the basis of the elections, the party of Aung San Suu Kyi should have gained from 80-90 percent of the parliamentary seats. However, everything appeared not so easy.

The harsh military powers of Burma were not still ready to accept the victory of the rivals. They annulled the result of the elections and moreover, they place Aung San Suu Kyi under house arrest for more than 20 years.

In 2010 Aung San Suu Kyi was released from house arrest. Aung San Suu Kyi completed in By-election in 2012 and they won the most seats in Parliament. The number of seats reached dozens.

In 2016 the military forces of Myanmar and civilians gather together to terrorize and destroy the villages of Rohingya.
The second huge wave of attacks occurred in August 2017, which caused 600000 Rohingya refugees to find their shelters in Bangladesh. Aung San was criticized for turning her back towards such inhumane atrocities.
Aung San herself rejected the fact that she was the initiative of the terrorist attack. She stated that the violence was from both sides and nobody was there to blame.
